This 1-dollar note is curious in that the front features an earlier portrait of Queen Elizabeth II just one year after a new design for this denomination had been issued with a portrait of Sir Lynden O.
Pindling. Although there has been no official explanation, rumor has it that the bank lacked permission to use Pindlings portrait and reverted to a previous design to meet pressing currency demands.
