1992 - 1993 Issues
The Republike Srpska dinar was the currency used in those areas under Serbian control between 1992 and 1995. No subdivisions were issued. The first Republike Srpska dinar was issued at the onset of the war in July 1992, replacing the 1990 version of Yugoslav dinar at the rate of 1 Republike Srpska dinar = 10 Yugoslav dinara, placing it on par with the contemporary Yugoslav dinar.
Serbian Krajina issued notes identical in color and design to B101 - B204, but the text on top is different, as is the signature and place of issue (КНИН = Knin instead of БАЊА ПУКА = Banja Luka). At first glance it may be difficult to distinguish front from back because the designs are equally balanced. Fortunately, legal regulations issued by the government of Republika Srpska clarify the situation by stipulating that Cyrillic script appear on the front of all banknotes and Latin script on the back. As it happens, another distinguishing characteristic is that the signature is on front and the red serial number is on back.
