General information: 1993 - 1994 Nouveau Zaïre Issues
With inflation estimated at 3,000% in 1993, the Banque du Zaïre revalued its currency at a rate of one nouveau zaïre to three million zaïre. - From 1993-1994, several denominations were inappropriately printed by Ciccone Calcográfica in Argentina, though they bore the imprint of Hotel des Monnaies.
These notes entered circulation without the official authorization or knowledge of the Banque du Zaïre. As a result, it’s possible to find notes of the same denomination and date from different printers with identical serial numbers.
